how do you make a cheese sauce to go on macaroni cheese?
place milk, flour, salt, pepper and mustard into a saucepan (using balloon whisk) whisk until smooth.
add margarine and stir until thick (using wooden spoon) boil for 1-2 minuets then stir in grated cheese
how do you cook pasta?
boil water half filling sauce pan, when boiling add salt and macaroni 50-75g per person for 12 minuets until tender
what ingredients goes into a cheese sauce?
- 150gm cheese
- 250ml milk
- 25gm plain flour
- 25gm margarine
- Seasoning
what does simmering mean?
Simmering - to cook gently – just below boiling point.
what does al dente mean?
Al Dente - literally means “to the tooth” describing pasta cooked until firm to the bite.
what does creaming method mean?
Creaming method – a method of making cakes by combining margarine and sugar until soft and fluffy.
