what are advantages of manufactured boards?
stronger and more stable than conventional wide boards of softwood or hardwood
also uses more of the tree meaning less waste and cheaper
what are disadvantages of manufactured boards?
when cutting and shaping they release harmful fumes due to high glue content
they are not as aesthetically pleasing as wood
what is oak?
hardwood, light brown, tough durable, beautiful grain, aesthetically pleasing and finishes well
what is plywood?
manufactured board, large flat boards, relatively strong don’t warp or twist, made up of layers , grains run perpendicular, always odd number of layers
