HELD - the globalisation of crime is the growing interconnectedness of crime across national borders. drugs trade is said to be£300-400 billion a yer due to street prices. drug trafficking - supply and demand. smugglers operate across national borders. the demand and biggest market for drugs is in uk.
  2. money laundering. Castells argues global criminal economy of over £1 trillion per annum. Bauman believed that growing individualism and consumer culture means that individuals are left to weigh the costs and benefits of their decisions. leads to people turning to crime and violence. puts society at harm. links to beck risk society, fears. endangers peoples lives.

  1. informed consent. eg researchers in questionnaires. fully explain what is happening before they agree to participate prevent harm, keep safe. participants should be protected. age. researching vulnerable groups.
