Takes into consideration biological, psychological and sociological factors
Advantages of biopsychosocial model
Holistic view of the patient
Less costly to prevent the disease before it happens
Disadvantages of biopsychosocial model
Results of this method of health are not evident until after a long period of time and difficult to measure its effectiveness
Advantages of biomedical model
Creates advances in technology and research
Extends life expectancy
Disadvantages of biomedical model
Not every condition can be treated
Not always affordable - healthcare staff and technology are expensive
