What is the Ocular?
The eyepiece with a standard magnification of 10x
What should you pick microscope up by?
By the base and arm.
What is the Stand?
Maintains stability and support.
What is the nosepiece?
A rotating device that provides an attachment for objectives
What are the Objectives?
The magnifying lenses. Most microscopes have 3-4.
What objective should the microwave be stored at?
The lowest magnification.
What is the stage?
Where you place your microscope slide on.
What is the stage clip?
Holds slide into place.
What is the condenser?
An adjustable device that adjusts contrast brighter and higher.
What is the diaphragm?
Located within condenser, changes contrast, resolution, brightness and depth of field.
What is the illuminator?
Light located at bottom of stand.
What is the focusing control?
Consists of fine and course adjustment knob
