Particle Interactions Flashcards
1
Q
What happens when a single fore acts on an object?
A
It changes the momentum of the object.
2
Q
What is the formula for the momentum of an object?
A
Mass x Velocity
3
Q
What happens when two objects interact?
A
- They exert equal and opposite forces on each other.
* Momentum is transferred between the objects by these forces.
4
Q
Why are virtual photons, virtual?
A
We cannot detect them directly, if intercepted ( through a detector for example ), the force would stop acting.
