Non-Discrimination
- Class discrimination: to be able to afford better education therefore have more support than others

Best Interest of the Child
- Best interest is being violated as they do not have equal access
- Best interest would be to have the best/equal access and assets to all children
- If not provided then kids are being hurt developmentally, mentally and in their future
- We are violating children’s right not having this system

Survival and Development
- We are failing this article if we do not accept that equal education (or education in general) relates to child’s development
- We must maximize access to education to maximize survival and quality of development

Participation Rights
- Crucial to education
- Provides a voice/context where the voice can be supported/encouraged
- A good system will support this (teach them their own rights)

Article 4: countries should provide to their maximum support/potential
Article 42: suppose to publicize to both children and adults that they have rights

- Beyond symbolic (lowest commitment) - but not near where we should be
- Lots of work to be done
- Better teacher training
