Q

Explain color harmony and color proportions.

A

Color harmony depends on the lightness and
saturation of all the colors. In other words, varying the value within a color or a cluster of related colors can create the most harmonious combinations. Proportion is another factor in color harmony. By changing the proportions of differently colored objects, we tinker with the harmony, placing greater emphasis on some colors and minimizing the effect of others. Another way to affect the harmony is to soften a jarring contrast between two distinct colors by using bridge tones, which contain elements of both colors.
