Q

Explain Muncell’s color notation.

A

Albert H. Muncell was dissatisfied with color names, which he regarded as unreliable and “foolish”, so he devised a naming system based on hue, value, and saturation. He broke the color wheel down into 5 hues, and 5 intermediate hues. The hues were divided again into 10. Each hue is linked to 10 values and 14 levels of saturation.
