South was rebuilt from the destruction of the civil war

What happened with poverty?

A

Since there were so many freedmen, it was too expensive to give them al 40 acres, so they sold the land for a reasonable price. This crates a new job: upraiser. The freedmen didn’t have money, so the white men took over the land, making them sharecroppers
