Part 3 Flashcards
What does the ECU receive from the wheel speed sensors?
AC voltage
Example sentence: The ECU receives AC voltage from the wheel speed sensors.
What does the ECU do with the AC voltage from the wheel speed sensors?
Understands how fast the wheels are turning and when they are not turning
What type of voltage does the ECU send to the modulator valve?
DC voltage
The ECU will in turn send DC voltage to the modulator valve, regulating air pressure as needed.
What is Meritor Roll Stability Control (RSC)?
Currently in Freightliner equipment and assists drivers in rollovers
Example sentence: Meritor Roll Stability Control (RSC) is currently in our Freightliner equipment.
What actions can the RSC system take?
Reduce engine torque, engage engine retarder, apply brakes and control modulators
How does the ECU work with the other ABS and ATC components?
Automatically
The ECU works automatically with the other ABS and ATC components.
What additional internal sensor does the ECU incorporate?
Similar to a carpenter’s square bubble for leveling
It incorporates an additional internal sensor much like a carpenter’s square bubble for leveling.
Why is it important to mount the ECU in the same location as removed?
To maintain proper functionality
