-make, change or abolish any law it wants
-overrule any other law
-they can change their own laws whenever
what’s the one thing parliament cannot do
bound future parliaments- they cannot put a law in place that says the future parliament can never change it
why are parliament supreme
Because they are voted in so they represent as making us a democracy
who makes up parliament
-house of commons
-house of lords
-monarch (king)
other than parliament who makes laws
-courts/ judiciary
-local authority/ public bodies
how does parliament differ from the government
-parliament is made up of mps
-the government is made up of mps from the biggest party (conservative)
