What is the constitution of the UK?
The UK is uncodified and made up of the Acts of Parliament.
What is Parliamentary Sovereignty?
A self governing state.
What are the powers of Parliamentary Sovereignty?
• Parliament can make or repeal any law
• The courts cannot overrule Parliament.
• No Parliament can bind future Parliaments.
What is the Separation of Powers split into?
• executive government
• legislature/parliament
• judiciary
What is the Executive Government?
The Government, led by the Prime Minister.
• Creates policy and implements it.
What is the Legislature?
The two Houses of Parliament and the Crown.
• Make the law and changes the law when needed.
What is the Judiciary?
The Judges.
• Applies the law to real cases.
