- Pancreatitis
- Critically ill patients
- Preoperative
- GI tract dysfunction

- Provides complete parenteral nutrition
- Osmolality exceeds 900 mOsm/L
- Best route and easier

- Patients who don’t have significant malnutrition
- Have good peripheral vascular access
- Can tolerate large volumes of fluid
- Need 5-14 days of parenteral nutritional support
