usually one of the 4 glands
causes hyperparathyroidism

CKD- can cause it
Radiation therapy

A
Bones, stones, moans and groans
constipation
thirst
excessive urination

how do you investigate a parathyroid adenoma
A
elevated PTH- often incidental
Ca levels also raised

how do you manage a parathyroid adenoma
A
remove the enlarged gland
hormone replacement therapy
cinacalcet (calcimimetic)
