etiology for rocky mountain
tick that carries rickettsia rickettsi
diagnosis for rocky mountain
- lab test, blood sample, rash specimen, or the tick itself
- can be difficult to diagnosis

- has multiple symptoms that will affect the skin, nervous system, heart and musculoskeletal system
- has 3 stages
what are the 3 stages for lyme disease
stage 1- multiple erythematous papules that itch, sting or burn (summer/early fall - outbreaks)
stage 2- appears weeks to months later; characterized by meningitis, cranial nerve palsies, and peripheral neuropathy
stage 3- oligoarticular arthritis
treatment for lyme disease
- doxycycline, amoxicillin, or erythromycin for 10-21 days
patho for scabies
eggs laid by sarcoptes scabiei mite in stratum corneum then will hatch into larvae, will hatch in 3-4 days and will reach adulthood in 2 months
etiology for scabies
infestation of sacrcoptes scabiei mite
diagnosis for scabies
observation of burrows and scraping
clinical manifestations for scabies

treatment for scabies
topical permethrin cream
patho for lice (pediculosis)
parasitic insects, survive by feeding on human blood
