This is a sexual disorder marked by persistence or recurrent inability to achieve sexual arousal, which has caused significant distress or problematic interpersonal relationship. For the diagnosis of female sexual interest/arousal disorder, it must not be caused by medical conditions, substance abuse, or medications.
At what point does arousal disorder become Genito-Pelvic Pain/Penetration Disorder?
Symptoms of arousal disorder have continued for 6 months and cause significant distress to the individual. Symptoms can not be associated with a medical disorder or sexual trauma.
