Parametric Flashcards
Kf you solve for t and get MULTIPLE ANGLES, how do you know when to use or when they’ll all give same result
Reason for getting multiple angles is because multiples of 2Pi, now if it’s jus a cos or sin function these will obvs return same value
However if something else is going on in the function. Then each angle will do something else so if it’s cos pi - x), obvs the pi inside is gonna change each angle which yield the same result otherwise
How do you know when parametric model something moving returns back to its original position, as in when one rotation happen
Find the periods of each x and y
Now to return back to the same position, x AND y must be the same . Therefore if x period is half y, then take Y PERIOD, because at that point y will return and x will return, have to consider BOTH OF THEM
Remember angles time everything must be RADIANS HERE
Always
Rememebr make sure to read properly what y is defined from. If y defined from ground, and currently 25, high, what do you want y to be to be at ground level
Not -25! As this means underground if defined from y = 25
Hence y =0!
Remember to check what t is defined as, don’t assume second s
Because could flip the speed, has to be minutes if t is minuted
How to show two lines never intersect
Find the value of t when they intersect and show not in domain easiest way
Or intersect the lines and show this gives a failed value for t same thing but way Yh longer just find the value of 2 where they intersect
If only need to find max height or distance, instead of diffenritsing and finding expression for whole thing how to do
Instead can just differntiate what you need , so height then just y set to 0 and plug that in saves time
