What are rabbit neutrophils called? Why? How do these compare to eosinophils?

A

Pseudoeosinophils or heterophils. Red-staining granules in cytoplasm. Heterophils are smaller with smaller granules. Eosinophil nucleus is bilobed or horseshoe-shaped.

Heart, liver, pancreas, kidney, skeletal muscle. Indicator of tissue damage, similar to creatinine kinase found in brain, heart, and skeletal muscle.
