The parable of the Good Samaritan
A man was on his way from Jerusalem to Jericho when a group of robbers stripped him and beat him and left him half dead on the side of the road. A priest was walking down the road, but did not help him. A levite (temple official) was walking down the road but did not help him. A Samaritan was walking down the road, and his heart filled with pity. He went to the man, poured oil and wine on his wounds, and bandaged them. He took the man on his beast and brought him to a inn. The next day, the man gave the innkeeper two silver coins and said ‘TAKE CARE LF HIM, AND WHEN I COME BACK THIS WAY, I WILL PAY YOU WHATEVER ELSE YOU SPEND ON HIM’.
And Jesus concluded, ‘IN YOUR OPINION, WHICH OF THESE THREE MEN ACTED LIKE A NEIGHBOUR TOWARDS THE MAN WHO WAS ATTACKED BY THE ROBBERS?’ The teacher of the law replied ‘THE ONE WHO WAS KIND TO HIM’. Jesus replied and said ‘YOU GO THEN AND DO THE SAME’.
