Papules
Small, well defined bumps in skin
Furuncles
Also goes by abscesses or boils
A collection of pus from an infected hair follicle
Reddish purple, swollen, painful
When together, are carbuncles
Scales
Resembles fish scales
An accumulation of the outer most skin
Usually excess dryness
Plaque
Solid, elevated, superficial lesions. Usually more than 1cm in diameter. Primarily in psoriasis
Erythema
Caused by congestion in small capillaries of the skin. Shows as redness of affected area
Psoriasis
Chronic or long term, proliferative, relapsing, inflammatory disorder with the skin, scalp and nails at any age.
Looks like silver scales on knees, scalp, trunk, elbows etc
Pityriasis rosea
In young adults. Starts as circular patch on skin. Lesion is small but itchy rash, red in color.
Headache, sore throat fatigue or symptoms of breakout.
Lichen planus
Affects skin and mucous membranes as a benign, disabling inflammatory disorder.
Adults between 30-70.
Associated with swelling, hyperpigmentation, pruritis.
Acne vulgaris
Skin condition in young adults. Hair follicles and oil glands become clogged with dirt and oil
Acne rosacea
Chronic inflammation in middle aged adults. More common in women.
Red and itchy pustules
