Papulosquamous Dz
Skin disorders characterized by scaly papules and plaques not contagious in nature
Seborrhea
Chronic inflammatory condition affecting the head and trunk that have sebaceous glands. SEE: Dry, greasy white flaking scales over reddish patches. TAKE HOME: NOT CURABLE OR PREVENTABLE. Only controllable.
Cradle Cap
Common conditions in newborns, not d/t hygiene issues. Leave it alone, self limiting.
Psoriasis
Life long condition not curable but controllable.
PITyriasis Rosea
Initial patch known as “herald patch” followed by a systemic eruption in christmas tree like pattern. Annular pink patch with scales following cleavage lines of upper torso.
Miliaria
Pruritic rash caused by trapped sweat occurs in moist areas of the body. Tx: control heat, reduce sweat frictions, antihistamines, steroids.
Lichen Planus
Inflammatory condition: Six P’s “Purititic, polygonal, planar, purple, papules and plaques. TX: photo therapy, steroids..

Know it can happen even when giving a medication at the appropriate dose. Causes include: drug vs drug, environmental, viral
