What is a papilloma
A
An over-growth of all layers of the skin with a central vascular core. They are increasingly common with age

What are the features of a papilloma
A
Can occur anywhere on the skin - particularly neck, trunk, face or anus
Pedunculated swelling
Flesh-coloured
Soft to palpation

How would you treat a papilloma
A
Surgical:
- Excise the papilloma with a sharp pair of scissors
- Controlling bleeding with a single suture
- Diathermy to control the bleeding

A
Pregnancy
Diabetes
Intestinal polyposis
