Paper process
A
Made from pulp - debarked logs are turned into fine chips, added to a chemical solution and cooked under pressure
The pulp is then fed onto a mesh conveyer belt to drain most of the liquid
It goes through three sets of rollers: squeezing, drying, and calendar
Squeezing - squeeze out any water left over
Drying - allow the pulp to dry
Calendar - give the paper the desired finish

Sizing

When the liquid pulp is beaten with other chemicals to reduce absorbency
Paper with little sizing is very absorbent (toilet/kitchen tissues)
