28yo woman with a pap showing atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance and + HPV test. Next step?
Colposcopy. (OR repeat Pap and DNA at 6 and 12 mo and if -, return to normal screen)
If negative then pap in 3 years.
Do patients with hysterectomy need a pap smear?
Only if they had cervical
cancer or high grade dysplasia.
*also of note pts age 65-70 can discontinue paps if they have had 2-3 negative paps
What are the recommendations for cervical screening?
<21= Dont do 21-29= every 3 years 30-65= Pap + HPV every 5 65+= D/C if negative
What are the steps in treating an abnormal pap smear?
- Cytology shows Abnormal cells
- HPV typing
- Colopscopy with biopsy if high risk HPV is present

What is acute salpingitis? What is the presentation?
PID caused by gonorrhea.
Yellowish discharge that exacerbates before and after menstruation.
Abdominal pain, CMT, adnexal tenderness.
If a patient looks to have acquired an STI, what testing should you order?
A whole STI pannel. Not just for what looks to be presenting.
Strawberry Cervicitis=?
Trich. Protozoan with flagella.
Fishy Odor with KOH?
Bacterial Vag.
Clue cells?
Bacterial Vag.
Yeast with pseudohyphae?
Candida
