Labs - PCR w/in 7 days, IGM/IGG after 4 days
Treatment- supportive/APAP/h2o/rest - self resolve
Mortaility - rare

Incubation - 2-14 days
Communicable period- avoid sex for 8 weeks post exposure. Post symptoms women- 8wk, men 6 mo and avoid pregnancy for 2 years

Important S/S - maculopap rash, conjunctivitis, small joint arthritis microcephaly and high risk of EBV
Other s/s
Labs- microcephaly at US 28-33 wks
Treatment- supportive, APAP- avoid NSAIDS r/o dengue
Mortaility- self resolve within 2-7days unless congenital passed on. LIFE LONG IMMUNITY

Other s/s - ….after 3 days the temp drops and symptoms get worse = hemorrhagic dengue
Labs- platelets <100k, diagnose clinically
Treatment- supportive, maintain BP
DF- oral hydration
DHF- isotonic IV fluids
Mortaility - if progressed to DHF death within 4 days

Other s/s - RASH, impaired renal/liver, high LFTs
Labs- Within 3 days ELISA/PCR Confirm virus in deceased
Treatment- supportive/isolation/ZMAPP antibodies
Mortaility- 90% spreads very quickly

Other s/s- within 24 they appear more toxic, higher fever, jaundice bleeding diarrhea
Labs- IGM persists for 4 years
Treatment- Vaccine very effective
Mortaility- 50% in second phase(after24 hrs)
