What did people do during most of their lives during the paleothilic period?
During the paleolithic period they spent most of their lives trying to stay alive (nomad), hunting and gathering-food, (living in shelters), often abandoned by cave-dwelling animals.
What did they draw?
Drew animals to pay respect and animals they hunted.
What was their belief system?
They developed a belief structure based on a spirit world.
Who was their spiritual mother?
Earth was their spiritual mother.
What resources did they use and for what?
Used charcoal as pencil’s (Black)
Chalk (white)
Clays (reds,browns,yellows,oranges)

Small fetish figures out of ivory,bone,antler and stone.
What did sculptures often represent?
Often represented animals and sometimes human.
What did they carve out most of the time?
Very often they carved pregnant or obese women, whose beliefs were exaggerated.
What body parts where eliminated from the sculptures?
Feet, hands and face where eliminated.
Who were the fetish figures given too?
Fetish figures where given to women, they would ward off evil spirits to protect the women.
