Simple (Archaic) Column has a simple door top.
Ionic:
Traditional (Classical) Scroll placed on top of the column (more complicated).
Corinthian:
Floral (Decadent) Detailed.
What are the three greek PERIODS?
Archaic:
First greek period
Claissical:
When they were at their best.
Decadent/Hellenistic:
Greek ending period.
What was the archaic period sculptures like/other periods?
Kouros, Male, Archaic, Copied the egyptians, New greek innovations: Nude, Diaphragm/abs, Smile, cut out negative space, anatomy attempted.
Kore, Female. Archaic.
Classical period, first time we see a nude female.
Decadent period, expression, brought life to the faces, exaggerated stories.
What is contrapposto?
Contrapposto, S curve, the way that you sculpt a body so that you’re shifting weight to create a natural looking stance.
