Neuromuscular p! referral
more likely to be described as shooting and burning, than as aching
Spleen p! referral
left upper abdominal quadrant pain, left flank pain, and mid-back pain
visceral tumors: esophageal cancer
p! radiating to back, or w/ swallowing, dysphagia and weight loss
visceral tumors: pancreatic cancer
deep, gnawing p! radiates from chest to back
visceral tumors: diagnostic tests (in the event of back p!)
plain film imaging, CT or MRI and lab tests
GI conditions: acute pancreatitis
mid epigastric pain radiating through to the back
GI condition: cholecystitis
present w/ abrupt, severe abdominal pain and RUQ tenderness, nausea, vommiting, fever
GI conditions and back pain: Diagnostic tests
plain film imaging, CT, MRI or labs
CV and Pulm Conditions: heart and lung disorders
refer pain to chest, back, neck, jaw, and UE
