What is the pain pathway?
A
- TRANSDUCTION
- nociceptors translate a noxious stimulus into a nociceptive impulse - TRANSMISSION
- nociceptive impulse transmitted along the spinal cord to brain via dorsal root - MODULATION
- in the Brain, the painful signal is either amplified or dampened - PERCEPTION
- the conscious awareness of the experience of pain (nociception)
