Importance of bringing a lunch box
You WILL eat while you are at the airport (just accept it). If you do not bring a lunch, you will have to pay for a meal at the airport and it will be insanely expensive (like $20 for a sandwich and a drink)
-This also allows you to bring a sandwich chips/drinks with you when you’re exploring the city. This minimizes the likelihood of needing to stop at a museum cafeteria (which is expensive and time consuming)
- But you also need to call ahead to make sure these places will let you bring “back packs”
Importance of comfy socks
Your feet will STILL hurt (even if you have comfy shoes) if your socks are not made for walking around. Try to get some hiking socks
Importance of hat and gloves
You can go like somebody’s cold you need them. I don’t care if it’s warmer than usual or you don’t think you:lol need them. Bring them anyway, you’ll be glad you did
And make sure your hat ACTUALLY covers your ears
Importance of compression shorts
Compression shorts are not optional. You WILL chafe if you don’t wear them.
- And being two, because they will get smelly
Preparing for TV watching
You will want to watch some TV while you’re there, even if it’s just a wind down for the night or fast time while you are companion is getting ready.
Either know your Netflix/Streaming passwords before you leave, OR bring an HDMI cord (do not assume you can buy one there, they could be out of stock)
Importance of having a bag for your stuff when going through an airport
It means all your stuff is in one place, and you can just take the bag and put it in the bin before you go through TSA check
Importance of putting all liquids and semi-solids (like deodorant) in their own ziplock bags
There’s a very good chance that one or more of those items will leak all over everything else in your bag
Importance of bringing your own hand soap
Select a soap with a scent that you actually like. There’s no way of knowing what kind of soap they’re going to have in the hotel, and you might not like the way it makes your hands smell
Importance of bringing both pepto and Advil
There’s a fair chance you’re going to overeat and/or get a headache and you do not want that to ruin the trip
Importance of bringing a see-through backpack
Some high security events like music festivals require see-through backpacks for you to get in
Cool trick with office supply binder clips
Bring office supply binder clips (the little black ones) so that you can fully close the curtains. For some reason a lot of hotel curtains don’t close all the way
