P4- Further Problem With Van Ijzendoorn Flashcards

1
Q

What is another problem with the Van Ijzendoorn meta-analysis?

A

Another problem with the Van Ijzendoorn meta-analysis is that it uses differing numbers of studies and pps for each country and thus it is impossible to generalise like for like. The studies supposedly represent each country but within each country there may be sub cultural differences in child rearing.

Q

Ultimately, in many of these studies…

A

Ultimately in many of these studies the samples are small and often from one particular social group, often middle class, and so we may not be able to compare the results.
