Just before the banquet scene, when Macbeth is plotting the murder of Banquo he tells his wife, “Be innocent of the knowledge dearest chuck…” which makes it transparent that he does not want her to get involved in this crime.

A
At the beginning of the play he informs her about everything but it now appears he is shutting her out, maybe to protect her or perhaps because he blames her for the guilt that now absorbs him after Duncan’s murder.
