P10 Flashcards
What is Newton’s first law
If a resultant on a stationary object is 0, the object will remain station.
With no resolution the object will move with the smart velocity.
What’s Newton’s second law
Acceleration of object proportional to resultant force and if inversely proportional to the mass of an object
What’s the equation for force
Force(N) = mass(Kg) x acceleration(m/s(2))
What is inertia
Objects will stay stationary or the small e motion unless there’s a resultant force acting on it,
Inertia mass measures how difficult it is to change velocity of an object; it’s the tattoo of the force needed to accelerate an object over acceleration procedure.
What is breaking
During breaking the brake presses against the wheel force of friction acts against them. The kinetic energy of the car converts to the thermal energy in the brakes so the temperature increases. The car then slows down as kinetic energy decreases.
What kind of force is gravity
Non-contact force that acts on everything
How to work out weight
Weight=mass x gravitational field strength
How are weight and an mass connected
Weight if an object is directly proportional to mass of an object
What does gravitational field strength depend on
It depends on where you are
What is terminal velocity
Terminal velocity is an objects eventual velocity when it’s falling. Weight is ideally a frictional force of an object. At terminal velocity resultant force is 0.
What does all moving forces have
They all have momentum
How to work out momentum
Momentum= mass x velocity
What is conservation of momentum
In a closed system it’s the total momentum before and after an event, it is equal
A greater speed results in ….
…A greater breaking force
How to work out force
Force= mass x acceleration
