brush, sprayed directly onto wood
- outside all year round like doors, window frames
increase toughness, hardness, weather resistance
Danish oil
clear, colour tints
apply with lint free cloth, rub the oil into surface in direction of grain.
-leave wood for 5min rub away excess with cloth
sand or rub with wire wool to open up
- not a hardwearing finish builds up a matt, water-resistant finish
Teak oil
clear tint only
- apply with lint free cloth, rub oil into surface of wood direction of grain.
leave for 5 mins then rub away with clean cloth
-used for naturally oily woods - outdoor woods use weather resistant and to fungal and insect attack
aesthetically pleasing
pressure treating
wood is placed in pressure vessel containing solution of copper sulphate.
vacuum and pressure controlled to force the preservative into fibres of wood is steam dries
-helps protect wood for up to 50 years to rot, insect, fungal attack and weathering
