Q

What do we do to the oxygen with dyspnea, a decreased LOC, an altered mental status and or suffered major trauma, COPD patients?

A

titrate oxygen to achieve an oxygen saturation of 88-92%

re assess vitals every 10 mins

maintain O2 flow rate at that level, if pt improves, increase oxygen y increments of 2L/min above starting level

if pt condition worsens, be prepared to ventilate
