Nasal Cannula
A
low flow. Ensure placement of prongs in nares. For COPD no more than 2-3lpm
1L/min= 24%
2L/min= 28%
3L/min= 32%
4L/min= 36%
5L/min= 40%
6L/min= 44% Never flow a NC greater than 6L/min

Simple Mask
A
Low flow runs at 6-10 L/min which gives 35%-60%. Never run a simple mask less than 6L/min(fun fact if you do they will actually retain CO2 and not get O2)

Partial rebreather mask
A
Low flow 6-15L/min = 70%-90%. Set the flow so that the bag only remains two-thirds full during inspiration

nonrebreather mask(NRB)
A
Low Flow 6-15L/min which gives 60%-100%. Maintain the flow rate so reservoir only collapses slightly during inspiration.

Venturi mask
A
A high flow 4-10L/min gving 24%-55% requires monitoring to verify FiO2 at flow rate ordered.
