78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 1% argon, 0.04% carbon dioxide, water vapour

How can you use copper to investigate the proportion of oxygen in the air?
A
When heated, copper reacts with oxygen to from copper oxide. If you heat an excess of copper in a tube and pass air over it using two syringes, you can use the markers on the syringes to tell you how much oxygen has been used up
