- Caused by low weight, eating disorders, heavy exercise, chronic disease
- GnRH pulsatility is low or absent → low FSH / LH → low estrogen
- Ovulation does not occur, so progesterone is low as well
- Treat the underlying condition.

Criteria for PCOS
A
Need at least 2/3: acne / hirsuitism, oligo / anovulation, and polycystic ovaries.

3 treatments for infertility w/ PCOS
A
- Clomiphene / Letrozole
- Weight loss / meformin - decrease insulin and androgen production.
- Exogenous gonadotropins are used if above don’t work.

- Adult onset
- Looks exactly like PCOS: irregular menses, hirsutism, infertility. Men may not have any sxs.
- Treat w/ exogenous glucocorticoids and steroids to suppress adrenal androgen production and thus induce ovulation.

40% due to autoimmune problems
Others include genes, radiation, and chemo
