Describe the visual development of an infant.
Birth to 5 years: Makes connections between visual cortex and rest of brain to make memories. They are also born near sighted with strabismus.
Discuss the motor development of an infant.
Cephalo-caudal: gaze, grasp, sit, walk
Proximal-distal: shoulder reach, then hand
Ulnar-radial: pinkie-fist grasp, then thumb-index finger grasp
Describe the gross motor development of an infant
Head control, sits, crawls, stands. 2,4,6,9,12.
Discuss fine motor development of an infant
Fists open, transfers object btw hands (rake), Thumb-finger grasp, pincher grasp. 2,4,6,9,12

6-18 months
Discuss social development of infant
Engages others (3-4 mon), explores environments (5-6), memory and receptive language (7-12).
When does object permanence develop?

Assesses all 4 areas of development until 6yrs. It is normal to have 1 caution. More than 2 is a global delay.

12m: Tripled birth weight and height increased by 50%
Describe the sleep needs of and infant
Newborn: 1-3hrs between feeds
6m: 4-6hrs at night
12m: wake at night with separation anxiety

Teething, irregular poop pattern, beginning to connect with others.
