What is an application letter?
A document that is written to a business or company to apply for a job position available.
What is the outline for a job application?
Your address, Date, Company address, Attention/Subject line, Greeting, Paragraph 1-purpose of the letter, Paragraph 2- Qualifications, Paragraph 3-interview info based on convenience, Closing and Signature.
What is the writing process defined as?
A sequence of ideas used to create a piece of writing.
What is the writing process?
- Brainstorm- Put ideas together.
- Organizing ideas- Pulling ideas in sequence.
- Prewriting (drafting)- 1st Writing.
- Revise- Review and Rewrite.
- Edit- Check for grammar, spelling, punctuation etc.
- Publishing- Submitting/All done.
What is Persuasive Writing?
A type of writing technique where the writer uses words to encourage the reader.
What are the purposes for Persuasive Writing?
It is used to state the writer’s opinions, it is used to convince the reader to take action and it is used to give reasons why the reader should agree with the writer.
What is the Persuasive Essay’s Outline?
- Introduction-{ Hook and Thesis statement }
- Body Paragraph 1- { main idea & supporting details }
- Body Paragraph 2- { main idea & supporting details }
- Body Paragraph 3- { main idea & supporting details }
- Conclusion-{ suitable conclusion with a good persuasive statement }
What is a Hook?
Preamble or an attention grabber to introduce your essay.
What is a Thesis statement?
Three highlighted or key points to be discussed in your writing.
What is Expository writing?
A type of writing that is used to explain, describe, give information and use evidence , details and facts to support the topic.
What is a Compare and Contrast Essay?
A style of essay that points out the similarities and differences between two or more subjects.
What is a Transitional expression?
These are words or phrases that are used as connections to link ideas in an essay. Eg. in addition, in contrast to, due to, on the other hand, hence, as a result of etc.
