Baitong Tang
When in Shaoyin disease, there is diarrhea, Baitong Tang governs. (SHL 314)
When in Shaoyin disease there is diarrhea and the pulse is faint, give Baitong Tang. When there is incessant diarrhea, reverse-flow, an absent pulse, dry retching, and vexation, Baitong Jia Zhudanzhi Tang governs. If after taking the decoction, the pulse suddenly moves outward, this means death, but if the pulse continues to be faint this means life. (SHL315)

In cold damage that has lasted five or six days, sweating has already been promoted followed by purgation, and there is fullness and mild congestion in chest and ribs, with unsmooth urination, thirst but no vomiting, and only the head is sweating, with alternating cold and heat, and mental vexation, this means that [the pattern] has not yet resolved, and Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Tang governs. In Taiyang disease that has lasted six to seven days, the surface pattern is still present, the pulse is faint and deep, but there is no chest bind, and the person is as if mad, for this is heat in the lower burner, and there must be hard fullness in the lower abdomen, for the person whose urination is smooth, there must be downpour of blood which indicates curation. Why is this, for taiyang follows the channel, and stasis heat is in the interior, so Didang Tang governs. (SHL 124)
In Taiyang disease, when the body is yellow, pulse is deep and knotted, the lower abdomen is hard, and urination is unsmooth, this indicates that there is no blood; when urination is smooth, and the person is as if mad, this is truly a blood pattern, and Didang Tang governs. (SHL 125)
When in Yangming disease the person is forgetful, there will be blood amassment. Why this is so is because originally there was enduring blood amassment, thus causing forgetfulness and stool, that although hard, is nevertheless easy to pass, and that will be black in color. It is appropriate to precipitate with Didang Tang. (SHL 237)

Xiao Jianzhong Tang
For taxation deficiency with internal tightness, palpitations, bleeding, pain in the abdomen, nocturnal emissions, cramping pains in the extremities, vexing heat in the hands and feet, dry throat and parched mouth, Xiao Jianzhong Tang governs. (JG 6)
In cold damage, the yang pulse is choppy and the yin pulse is wiry, there generally is urgent pain in the abdomen, first give Xiao Jianzhong Tang; if not cured, then give Xiao Chaihu Tang. (SHL 100)
After two or three days of cold damage, there is palpitation in the heart with vexation, Xiao Jianzhong Tang governs. (SHL 102)
