Our Body Systems Flashcards
(N IMP) What are the main four functions of the skeletal system?
It gives the body its shape, allows movement, makes blood cells, provides protection for organs.
The function of Kidney.
Filter our blood, urine.
The Function of The Bladder.
Stores urine.
The function of Liver.
Filters all of the blood in the body and breaks down poisonous substances.
What is the five main Body Systems?
- Nervous System
- Digestive system
- Respiratory System
- Excretory System
- Circulatory System
What organs are consist in the Nervous System?
Brain and Spinal Cord
What are the Functions of Brain and Spinal Cord?
The brain and spinal cord send and receive messages from the rest of the body.
What organs are in the Digestive System?
Stomach, liver and intestines.
What is the functions of the Stomach, Liver, and Intestine?
The food we eat is broken in the digestive system to form smaller substances.
What organs are in the Circulatory system?
Heart and the blood vessels.
What is the functions of the organs in the Circulatory System?
The heart pumps blood to circulate around the body.
What are the organs in the Respiratory System?
Lungs and Trachea.
What are the functions of Lungs and Trachea?
The lungs and windpipe allow to breathe in oxygen and breathe out CO2.
What are the organs in the Excretory System?
Skin (tricky), Liver, Lungs and Kidneys, Bladder.
What are the functions of the organs in the Excretory System?
Remove Waste Product from the body. (Urine, sweat)
What are the six organs in the Respiratory system?
- Nasal Passage
- Trachea
- Bronchi
- Alveoli
- Lungs
- Diaphragm
You inhale air through these about 20 times a minute.
Nasal Passages
Function of Trachea
The Tube that Carries air to the lungs.
Function of Bronchi
The Tube inside the lung that lead to this Alveoli.
These little sacs are where carbon dioxide leaves the blood and oxygen enter it.
Alveoli
What is the function of Alveoli?
These little sacs are where carbon dioxide leaves the blood and oxygen enter it.
Function of Lungs
Two and important {organs inside our chest cavity}.
Diaphragm
This large muscle helps you fill and empty your lungs.
{large muscle}
What does brain need to work properly?
What is the food track?
Mouth–> Oesophagus–> Stomach–> Small intestine–> Large intestine–> Anus
What can cause Asthma? (Name 3 things)
Pollution, Smoking, Dust, and Pets.
What happen when you have Asthma?
The airways become inflamed (swollen) and Narrower.
You will be Coughing, Shortness of breath, Tightness of the chest and difficulty breathing
