Maths (PISM) Flashcards
What is Polygon?
A Polygon is a shape that is closed and has straight lines and the lines do not intersect and it has to be a 3D shape.
-Closed
-Straight Lines
-Line do not intersect
-It has to be 3D shape
Which symbol do you use to illustrate that the angles are equal?
The circular symbol.
Which symbol do you use to illustrate that the lines are EQUAL?
The line symbol -
How do you label angles correctly?
Its vertex, by the three points of the angle [
(the middle point must be the vertex) ]
What is a adjacent angle?
is a common vertex. ( remember that it is a vertex)
Definition: Two lines that meet at a polygon vertex.
Sides, Angles, Parallel, and Polygons
Sides: In geometry, sides refer to the line segments that make up the boundaries of a polygon. For example, in a square, there are four sides.
Angles: Angles are formed by two intersecting lines or line segments. They represent the amount of rotation between the lines.
Parallel lines: Parallel lines are two or more lines that are always the same distance apart from each other and do not intersect.
Polygons: Polygons are closed geometric shapes made up of line segments. They have straight sides and angles.
Label an angle.
Vertex, Arm, Angle.
How many type of angles are there?
5 types
What are the type of angles?
Right Angle, Acute Angle, Obtuse Angle, Straight Line, Reflex Angle.
What is an Obtuse Angle?
Obtuse angle is an angle that is between 90 and 180 DEGREES.
