Part 1 - Build healthy public policy
What does this mean?
It involves recognising obstacles to health-promoting policies and removing them, thus making access to healthier choices, easier.
Part 2 - Create supportive environments
What does this mean?
Create living and working conditions that are safe, stimulating, satisfying and enjoyable
Part 3 - Strenghten community action
What does this mean?
Work for and with individuals and communities, rather than “on” them.
Part 4 - Develop personal skills
What does this mean?
Provide information and education and help people develop skills that need to make healthy choices
Part 5 - Reorient health services
What does this involve?
Shared responsibility for health promotion in health services, amongst individuals, communities, health workers, policy-makers, and governments.

Describe what the “advocate” component means?
Health promo aims to make Political, economic, social, cultural, environmental, behavioural, and biological factors favourable through advocacy of health
What does the “enable” component mean?
Achieving equity in health by enabling equal access to supportive environments, and access to information, life skills and opportunities.
What does the “mediate” component mean?
Professional and social groups, and health personnel have a major responsibility to mediate between differing interests in society for the pursuit of health
