A

A psychotic episode presenting very similar to schizophrenia but lasting <1mth (therefore doesn’t meet criteria for schizophrenia of >1mth)

• Brief: resolve in days, weeks or mths

A
  • Latent schizophrenia
  • Eccentric behaviour, suspiciousness, unusual speech, deviations of thinking + affect similar to those suffering w/ dementia
  • NO hallucinations or delusions

Define Persistent delusional disorder

A
  • The development of a single or set of delusions for a period of >3mths in which the delusion is othe only, or most prominent, Sx w/ other areas of thinking + functioning well preserved (unlike schizophrenia)
  • Often persecutory, grandiose, hypochondiacal
