Difference between entropian vs trichiasis
Entropian
- Inward rotation of lid margin
(eyelash is normal)
Trichiasis
- Abnormal misdirection of eyelash
(just the eyelash is naughty)
Pre-retinal haemorrhage means
Haemorrhage covers vessels
Sub-retinal haemorrhage means
Vessels can be seen overlying the haemorrhage
aka subhyloid haemorrhage
Keratoconus
Progressive eye disease where cornea thins and gradually bulges into a cone-like shape, causing distorted vision
- typically affects both eyes
- may lead to increased myopia and astigmatism
Known risk factor for developing keratoconus
Extensive eye rubbing
- mechanical trauma caused by frequent, vigorous rubbing can weaken corneal structure and the cause the cone-like look
