Define number needed to treat NNT
Number Needed to Treat (NNT) is the number of patients you need to treat to prevent one additional bad outcome (death, stroke, etc.).
For example, if a drug has an NNT of 5, it means you have to treat 5 people with the drug to prevent one additional bad outcome

= the availability of medical or social caretends to vary inversely with the need of the population served
What are the 3 types of resource allocation
Egalitarian - provide all care that is necessary and required to everyone ( + equal for everyone, - economically restrcited)
Maximising - based soley on consequence (+ resources allocated to thosr likely to receive most benefit, - those with ‘less need’ receive nothing)
Libertarian - each individual responsible for own health (+ onus on patient therefore may be more engaged, - not all disease are self-inflicted)
What are the 5 aspects of health belief model
- Perceived susceptibility
- Perceived severity
- Health motivation
- Perceived benefits
- Perceived barriers
Advantages of health belief model

- longest stagding model
Disadvantages of health belief model

- doesnt differentiate between first time and repeat behaviours
