The speed at which a galaxy is moving away is proportional to its distance from us

It’s when an electromagnetic wave appears to have a longer wavelength than it should have.
What does this therefore mean the object must be doing?
Moving away
What happens when the more the wavelengths are red shifted?
The faster the object is moving away.
