What happens in act 1 scene 1
Iago and Rodrigo tell Brabantio that Othello married Desdemona to get Brabantio to chase after Othello
What happens in act 1 scene 2
Brabantio and Rodrigo arrive to attack Othello and Othello is called to see the Duke of venice. Brabantio talks to the Duke directly about Othello and Desdemona
What happens in act 1 scene 3
Desdemona chooses Othello over her father which tortures Rodrigo. The Duke sends Othello to Cyprus to defend it from the Turks and Desdemona does with him. Iago is convinced Othello slept with his wife and wants revenge.
What happens in act 2 scene 1
The Turks die in a storm but Othello arrives safely. Iago plots to frame Cassio by convincing Rodrigo that Cassio wants t sleep with Desdemona
What happens in act 2 scene 2
Othello’s herald announces a feast celebrating Othello’s marriage and the safety of Cyprus
What happens in act 2 scene 3
Iago gets Cassio drunk who then stabs Montano. Othello fires Cassio. Iago suggests to Cassio to ask for Desdemona’s help in getting his job back.
What happens in act 3 scene 1
Emilia tells Cassio that Desdemona is trying to get Othello to rehire him but he is unsure because of Montano’s political influence in Cyprus.
What happens in act 3 scene 2
Othello asks Iago to deliver some letters to his ship’s captain and give his regards to the senator of venice.
What happens in act 3 scene 3
Iago convinces Othello that desdemona and Cassio are having an affair. Othello vows revenge and promotes Iago to lieutenant.
What happens in act 3 scene 4
Othello hints that Desdemona is unfaithful when she cannot show the handkerchief, and she tells her it was an enchanted heirloom. Cassio asks Bianca to copy the handkerchief he found in his room.
What happens in act 4 scene 1
Iago asks Cassio about Bianca while Othello listens from hiding and believes that Cassio is speaking about Desdemona and accuses her of having an affair. While Othello plans to murder Cassio and Desdemona, Lodovico arrives with orders for Othello to return to Venice and leave Cassio incharge.
What happens in act 4 scene 2
Othello accuses Desdemona of being a whore while Emilia ponders that a villain has tricked Othello. Rodrigo laments about his love while Iago convinces him to kill Cassio.
What happens in act 4 scene 3
Desdemona sings a song about losing one’s lover as she gets ready for bed and speaks to Emilia about adultery.
What happens in act 5 scene 1
Iago wounds Cassio and frames Rodrigo for it, then kills Rodrigo. Iago and Emilia arrest Bianca for being a whore and say it led to Cassio’s death.
